The ultimate anti-aging booster
When it comes to your skin, water is what keeps it moist and smooth the most. It prevents it from drying out, helps maintain elasticity and gives your skin that healthy glow. Now, because water is lost in large quantities every day, you need to replace it. But here is the thing: water will reach all the other organs BEFORE it reaches the skin. Meaning, you need to drink plenty of it to increase hydration and help prevent wrinkles.
Did you know that about 2/3 of our body weight is water? Because of that, drinking water in its purest form is essential to your well-being. Water not only hydrates and is essential for metabolism. It helps flush and detoxify the body, regulate body temperature, eliminate waste, protects the joints and organs, and carries nutrients and oxygen in the cells. Every system in the body is dependent on water.
Ye it’s estimated that roughly 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated and don’t even know it. The average person loses roughly 10-15 cups of water a day. The effects of dehydration are far from skin-deep: Lack of water is the #1 trigger for daytime fatigue and headaches. For the body to function properly, we need to replenish this water through the foods and beverages we consume.
Exposure to environmental toxins is one of the most overlooked aspects of health. With over 800,000 chemicals on record in the United States alone, it is easy to assume that many of them are making it into our bodies. As our largest organ, our skin provides a barrier to some of these harmful environmental aggressors, germs and UV radiation. But our skin also acts as a sponge…it absorbs things. Meaning what you put on your skin, can ultimately end up in your bloodstream and adversely affect your health.
In my next blog, I will share some great tips on how to create a water drinking habit that works 🙂
When you are dehydrated, it increases the concentration of toxins in the body which can lead to a host of symptoms, everything from chronic fatigue to premature aging. In fact, aging occurs when we do not dispose of the internally generated wastes and toxins in our body. This process is known as ‘getting old’. The accumulation of waste products inside our body is essentially causes the aging process. If you are thirsty, it means you are already dehydrated. Monitor your urine. A hydrated body should produce clear, colorless urine.
Anti-aging colon health
Older people are five times more likely to develop constipation than younger people. Water is a very important component for keeping colon healthy and for avoiding constipation. If you want to keep your skin smooth, supple, and radiant – water is the secret for maintaining healthy, younger looking skin.
Say NO to BPA
Our health depends not only on the quantity of water we drink but also on its quality. Watch out for plastic bottled water containing harmful chemicals like BPA (Bisphenol A) that are linked to harming your health. Instead invest in a good water purification system or opt for BPA free clear bottles containing fresh purified, or spring water. Never use cloudy bottles.
